biography
Mohsen Sharifian
Mohsen Sharifian was born in Iran, Busheher in 1975. He has bachelor degree in Social Sciences- Researching and master degree in Music from Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance . He started his musical activity since the establishment of a Bushehr Lian Music Group in 1993. Now ,This group has notable records as a most popular and prestigious folklore music band in Iran.

- Introducing and donating Iranian straw maker in Brussels Museum (Belgium)
- Introduction and donation of Iranian straw maker in Orense Museum (Spain)
- Holding art workshops at Tchaikovsky University in Russia
- MasterClass performances at the Asia-Africa Institute affiliated with Moscow State University, along with introducing the history of the Persian Gulf and teaching musical terms in Persian
- Holding music workshops at the University of Toronto, Canada
- Workshop held in Oslo, Norway
- Workshops in Scotland
- Composing, playing and singing in music of various films and domestic and foreign musical single tracks
- Design and production of the first Iranian electronic Bagpipe (Lianic)
- Revival of Nowruz maritime tradition in Kish Island
- Holding the first international bagpipe festival on Kish Island.
- The winner of the Barbad Award at the 38th Fajr Music Festival in the section of research books (historical and technical) for the book “Bab Al-Hawa, Anthropological Music of Kish Island”
- The winner of the Barbad Award at the 38th Fajr Music Festival of Iran in the regional music section for the music album Luka
- Holding music workshops at the University of Tokyo, Japan.
Aakaa Safavi
He was born in 1979 in Bushehr and received his degree in Business Management. He started his musical activity in 1994 as an Iranian classical singer for 12 years. He was introduced as a prestigious singer in Seda and Sima festivals. He received an award at Fadjr International Festival in 2006 and was titled a young musical prodigy by the National Institute of the Young in 2008. He has been a part of Lian Music for 2 years now and has collaborated with the group as a singer in many national and international performances. His first album with the group was released last year, titled “Mahaleye Khomooni”. Besides Lian, he has also performed with Maftoon, Ham-Nava, Mehr Ahang, and Navahang.
Hossein Sangsar
He was born in 1974 in Bushehr. He was interested in music since his childhood and started learning percussion instruments since 1988. After receiving high achievement awards from student festivals and Mohsen Sharifian’s invite, he joined the group in 1993 by continuing his practice as a percussion player. Besides national performances, he has participated with the group in international performances such as the 2006 Germany World Cup and 2008 China Olympic Games. He has been a part of most albums released by the group. Sangsar has also performed with Shabdiz Music Group and worked with No Nava Group on their “Chish Entezar” album. He was a part of Leemer band in Switzerland as a guest performer in 2000. He cooperated in the making of the music of Iranian films “Fereshtegan” and “Jang-e Naftkesh-ha”.
Hamid Akbari
He was born in 1989 in Bushehr and started his musical activity as a student. He received two awards for best solo performance with Ney-Nava folklore band at local Bushehr festivals and recorded the album, “Chish Entzar” with the band. He continued his activity with Hiroun Band and joined Lian in 2009 as a solo percussion player. He has participated in many performances with Lian, such as Fadjr International Festival, and has worked on the album, “Mahaleye Khomooni”. He has also appeared as a guest performer in Darkoub Band.
Morteza Palizdan
Born in 1981, Palizdan was interested in music since childhood. After participating in many student festivals, he worked with different Bushehri bands such as Basidoon and Shabdiz. He was invited to join Lian in 1999, and has performed nationally and internationally with the group. As a percussion player, he has been an important part of the albums released by this group.
Ali Ahmadi
Born in 1980, his early interest in music resulted in him receiving the first place award in the Country’s Student Festival in 1994. This enabled him to join Lian. After gaining much experience from Mohsen Sharifian, he created the group Jalboot and donated the money gained from his first concert to the flood stricken state of Golestan. He returned to Lian in 1999 and participated in Fadjr and Defa-e Moghaddas Festivals. He renamed his band to No-Nava and released the album “Chish Entezar”. After the album’s success, he released his second album, “Pishkesh”, in the same year. Ahmadi received first place in the Student Festival of 1995 and “Lalehaye Sorkh” Festival. He won awards from Fadjr and Sooreh Festivals, as well as being titled best composer by Seda and Sima. He was also awarded first and second place in Bushehr’s Music Festival.
