The “From Harbour to Harbour” concert in Australia has been aptly named to symbolise a powerful cultural exchange between two distinct regions and musical traditions. Featuring Mohsen Sharifian, a master of the Ney-anbān and the LIAN Band, hailing from Bushehr, one of Iran’s renowned harbours in the southern part of the country, the concert bridges the geographical and cultural gap. Their traditional bagpipe music, deeply rooted in the history of Bushehr, will blend harmoniously with the mesmerising sounds of William Barton, an iconic Aboriginal musician from Australia, who will share the stage in Sydney.

The choice of “Harbour to Harbour” as the concert’s name signifies a journey of musical exploration across oceans and cultures. Music, as the universal language, transcends boundaries, uniting both musicians, their unique cultural backgrounds, and, most importantly, forging a connection between their respective nations.
